Federated Learning for IVF Clinics

Join our network of clinics using privacy-preserving machine learning to improve embryo selection without sharing sensitive patient data.

Federated Learning Network

How Federated Learning Works

Train machine learning models across multiple clinics without sharing sensitive patient data

Privacy First

Patient data stays securely within your clinic's systems, never leaving your premises.

Collaborative Learning

Only model updates are shared, allowing algorithms to learn from diverse patient populations.

Continuous Improvement

Models adapt and improve over time as more clinics participate and more data is processed.

Regulatory Compliant

Designed to meet HIPAA, GDPR, and other healthcare privacy regulations worldwide.

Technical Requirements

  • Modern workstation with CUDA-compatible GPU (NVIDIA RTX series recommended)
  • 64-bit operating system (Windows 10/11 Professional, macOS 12+, or Ubuntu 20.04+)
  • Minimum 16GB RAM (32GB recommended)
  • 500GB available storage space for model and image data
  • Secure internet connection with minimum 10 Mbps upload speed

Installation & Training Process

Simple setup process allowing your clinic to start contributing to the federated learning network

1
Download & Install the EmbrAI Client

Download the EmbrAI Client software package from our secure portal using your clinic credentials. Run the installer package appropriate for your operating system.

# Windows PowerShell
.\embrai-federated-setup.exe

# macOS Terminal
sudo chmod +x ./embrai-federated-setup.sh
./embrai-federated-setup.sh

# Linux Terminal
sudo chmod +x ./embrai-federated-setup.sh
sudo ./embrai-federated-setup.sh
2
Configure Your Data Connection

Connect the EmbrAI client to your embryo imaging system. Our software supports all major time-lapse imaging systems including EmbryoScope, Geri, and Miri TL.

Run the configuration wizard and select your imaging system from the dropdown menu. Follow the prompts to establish a secure connection to your imaging database.

3
Initialize Local Training

Start local model training with your clinic's data. This step performs initial training while keeping all patient data within your secure network.

# Start the local training process
embrai-client --train-local --epochs 5 --batch-size 32

The initial training typically takes 3-6 hours depending on your hardware and the amount of available data. You can continue using your systems normally during this process.

4
Join the Federated Network

Once local training is complete, connect to the EmbrAI federated network. This will securely share only model weights (not patient data) with our central server.

# Register with the federated network
embrai-client --register --clinic-id "your-clinic-id" --secure-key "your-secure-key"

# Contribute to the federated model
embrai-client --federated-update --rounds 10
5
Receive Global Model Updates

Regularly receive aggregated model improvements from the federated network. The global model incorporates learnings from all participating clinics while preserving privacy.

# Get the latest global model
embrai-client --update-global-model

We recommend scheduling weekly model updates using your system's task scheduler (Windows) or cron jobs (macOS/Linux).

Frequently Asked Questions

Common questions about our federated learning platform

How does federated learning protect patient privacy?
Federated learning keeps all patient data securely within your clinic's systems. Only model weights and updates (mathematical parameters) are shared with our central server, never the actual embryo images or patient information. This approach complies with all major privacy regulations including HIPAA and GDPR.
How much technical expertise is required to use the system?
Our system is designed to be user-friendly for clinics without specialized AI expertise. Initial setup typically requires assistance from your IT department, but ongoing use is straightforward with an intuitive interface. We also provide comprehensive documentation and technical support.
How often should we run model updates?
We recommend contributing to model training weekly and downloading global model updates bi-weekly. These processes can be automated to run during off-hours to minimize impact on your clinical workflow.
Can we customize the model for our specific clinic's needs?
Yes, our Enterprise plan includes customization options. This allows for fine-tuning based on your clinic's unique patient population and specific embryo assessment protocols.
How do we measure the impact on our success rates?
The EmbrAI dashboard provides analytics on model performance, including retrospective analysis comparing AI selections to actual outcomes. Most clinics see measurable improvements in implantation rates within 6-9 months of implementation.
